Donny Workout Description and Standards

Donny:
For time:
21-15-9-9-15-21
Deadlift #225/#155
Bar facing burpee

Donny 2.0:
For time:
21-15-9-9-15-21
Deadlift #185/#125
Bar facing burpee

Description:

At the sound of “GO”, Athlete One will move from the lane number to the barbell to begin the deadlifts. Once 21 deadlifts are completed, they may begin 21 bar facing burpees. Once 21 burpees are completed, they must move the barbell forward to the next marker (15) where the next round will be performed. The bar must be moved forward for each new round.

One athlete must always be standing on or behind the lane number. Athletes may switch at any time. To switch, there must be a hand slap between the athlete on the lane number and the athlete returning from the barbell.

When the final set of 21 burpees is completed, the athletes will finish by running back through the pullup rig and over the timing line. One athlete may cross the timing line before the other athlete makes it back. A team’s time will be measured when the last athlete from that team crosses the line.

* The tiebreak time for this workout will be recorded when the first set of 9 bar facing burpees is completed.

Standards:

Deadlift

These will be “conventional” deadlifts (the hands outside of the knees). Sumo deadlifts are NOT allowed. The bar must be lifted from the floor to a standing position where the knees and hips are fully extended and the athletes head and shoulders are behind the vertical plane of the barbell. Athletes may perform touch and go reps, but any perceived intentional “bouncing” of the bar off the floor will result in a “No Rep”.

The athlete must have at least part of a foot in contact with the tape marker that identifies the set of deadlift they are performing for their reps to count.

Bar Facing Burpee
Each rep begins with the athlete facing their barbell and dropping their body to the ground. The thighs and chest must both make contact with the ground and the head MAY NOT be over the bar. The athlete must then rise from the floor and jump over the barbell. A TWO FOOT TAKEOFF MUST BE PERFORMED ON THE JUMP OVER THE BAR. Any single foot takeoffs or stepping over the bar will be met with a “No Rep”. The athlete must have their feet within their lane lines throughout the entire rep, contact with the lane lines will result in a “No Rep”.  Any “No Rep” for any reason will require that the athlete restarts the rep in question on the same side of the barbell that the rep was originally attempted.

Holbrook Descriptions and Standards

Holbrook:
10 rounds for time:
5 thruster #115/#75
10 pullups
100m run
*Partners must alternate rounds.

Holbrook 2.0:
10 rounds for time:
5 thruster #95/#65
100m ski erg
100m run
*Partners must alternate rounds.

Description:

At the sound of “GO”, Athlete One will begin the first round. After completing 5 thrusters and 10 pullups (100m ski for the Weekend Warriors), the athlete must run the length of their lane, move the chess piece from marker (X) to marker (1) and run back. Once they slap the hand of Athlete Two, the second round may begin. This pattern will cycle until round 10 where the athlete will run down, move the chess piece to marker (10) and finish the workout by running back through the pullup rig and over the timing line. Athlete One may cross the timing line before Athlete Two makes it back. A team’s time will be measured when the last athlete from that team crosses the timing line.

* The tiebreak time for this workout will be recorded when round 5 is completed and the hand slap occurs allowing Athlete Two to start round 6.

Standards:

Thruster
A rep begins when the athlete achieves a squat below parallel with the barbell in the front rack. The rep is complete when they have moved up from the bottom of that squat and pressed the bar to a full lockout overhead. Athletes may use a “squat clean” to begin a thruster.

Pullup
Any style of pullup is allowed, provided that the athlete starts by hanging with arms that are fully extended. To complete a rep, the athlete’s chin must break the horizontal plane of the pullup bar.

Ski Erg
Athletes may adjust the damper on the Concept 2 Ski erg, but they MAY NOT touch the monitor. The monitor will be set to 100m by the judge before the athletes begin skiing.

An athlete may leave the ski erg when all 100m have been skied and the monitor reads 0m

Moving the Chess Piece
When the chess piece is moved forward to the next marker, it must be placed in contact with the piece of tape that is the marker for the upcoming round.

If the chess piece is not on the marker or if the chess piece is knocked over, the athlete will be called back to properly place the piece on the marker before they can finish their run.

Murph Workout Description and Standards

Murph:
For time:
800m run
100 pullup
100 synchronized hand release pushup
150 synchronized air squat
800m run

Murphski:
For time:
800m run
k ski erg
100 synchronized hand release pushup
150 synchronized air squat
800m run

Description:

At the sound of “GO” both athletes will begin the 800m run with both athletes holding the Rx Rope and Handle Tether. Upon completion of the run, both athletes must proceed to their lane where they will drop the tether on the rubber stall mats by the lane number. One athlete must remain on the lane number while the other works through pullups (Skiing for The Weekend Warriors). Athletes may change places at any time by slapping hands at the lane number. Once 100 pullups (1k ski for the Weekend Warriors) are completed, the athletes may move forward to begin the synchronized hand release pushups.

They will progress forward to the next floor segment after each set of 20 completed reps. When the 100th pushup is completed, the athletes will move forward into the next floor segment to begin the synchronized air squats.

They will progress forward after each set of 30 reps is completed. When the 150th air squat is completed, the athletes will begin the final run by rounding the chess piece at the end of the lane, grabbing the tether, and proceeding out of the start gate.

The workout will conclude when both athletes, while holding the Rx Rope and Handle Tether, cross the finish line.

Standards

Running:

Both athletes must be holding the Rx Rope and Handle tether at all times during both 800m runs. The tether may only be dropped once the athletes have made it to their lane number following the first run. The tether will be collected once the athletes have passed the finish line at the end of the second run.

*Any team seen not holding the tether during any portion of either run will be given a 1 MINUTE PENALTY that will be added to their recorded finish time.

The monitor will be set to 1,000m by the judge before the athletes begin skiing. The team may leave the ski erg when all 1,000m have been skied and the monitor reads 0m.

Synchronized Hand Release Pushup
Each rep begins with the athlete lowering their body to the floor and VISIBLY removing their hands from the ground. The athlete must then press themselves up from the floor and establish fully extended arms. For the rep to be complete, the athlete’s ankles, knees, hips and shoulders must be set in a straight line.

The synchronization of the movement will occur both at the bottom of the rep (when the hands are released), and at the top of the rep (when the arms are fully extended and the body is held in a straight line). Any requirement not met by one or both partners will result in a “No Rep”.

There is NO requirement of a rigid body position during the movement itself. Only the requirement that the body is aligned to FINISH THE REPETITION with the arms at full extension.

Synchronized Air Squat
Each repetition begins when the athlete lowers their butt to VISIBLY contact a Rogue Medicine ball. The athlete must then stand from the ball and establish fully extended hips and knees.

Any perceived intentional “bouncing” off the medicine ball to aid in ascension will result in a “No Rep”.

The synchronization of the movement will occur both at the bottom of the rep (when the butt hits the ball), and at the top of the rep (when full extension is reached). Any requirement not met by one or both partners will result in a “No Rep”.
